Do You Watch Television?

I do. Not a huge amount, as my time is limited, but there are a few things that I like to record on the good 'ol TiVo to watch later.

My favorite network television show is Boston Legal. I think the writing on the show is really great, but I think that the character of Alan Shorr (masterfully played by James Spader) is what makes the show a success. Add the bufoonish Denny Crane (played by William Shatner) and you have a top-notch lawyer dramedy show. My Mrs bought the first season on DVD for me recently... I told you all before that she is my treasure.

I also watch two reality shows... ok, ok, I can hear you groaning all the way here in Virginia, so quit it. I admit to enjoying Dancing with The Stars (mainly because Cheryl Burke is nice to look at), but I don't have any real emotional attachment to if... just a good way to spend an hour or so, while I am beading. This show is best viewed using the digital video recorder, so I can just breeze through the parts I don't want to see.

The only other network show that I regularly watch is American Idol... oh great! Again with the groaning!... whats that all about? Let me enjoy the show! What I like about Idol isn't how great the competitors are, rather how BAD most of them are. Watching some of this schlock is more fun than I can describe.

Other shows that I weatch or record include Murder City (BBC America) and Wire in The Blood (BBC America)

What are you watching these days?

I do watch some TV.

Monday nights is "Girlfriends." I used to watch "Medium" but I'm not sure what happened to it. I used to watch "Half & Half" but they cancelled it. I'm so pissed about that!!!

Tuesday I'll watch at least part of "Boston Legal."

Thursday nights is my real TV night - "Ugly Betty" then "Grey's Anatomy" and "ER." I cannot talk on the phone during these shows.

I used to watch "Desperate Housewives" on Sundays, but it's getting annoying, so I don't care if I miss it and now I'll answer the phone when it's on.

I love Murder City, too. Glad you like it. I wish BBC America would show more dramas and less endless reruns of Cash in the Attic, which I used to like and am growing to loathe. I am perpetually hooked on Coronation Street, as you know. This season I am really enjoying the Friday night line-up of Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica on SciFi. I adore the new Doctor Who, perhaps the first completely fanciable Doctor ever.

May I just add that I hate the way this website refuses to capitalize my first name. Damned, grammar hating program!

I was really, really hooked on Project Runway (and I'm still a bit distraught that the season has come to an end).

My husband and I are also fans of Lost, but we're way behind - we're still working our way through the second season on DVD.

And, honestly, I think my very favorite thing on TV is King of the Hill. I could watch reruns all day long...

Sports.
Sports.
Sports.
And then some sports.

It's October, after all!

I don't watch all that much TV either, and usually when I do get hooked the darn thing is already in reruns--until this year! I am now watching House on Tuesdays and Grey's Anatomy on Thurs. Caught a couple of episodes last night of Heroes at the recommendation of a friend but parts of it were just a wee bit too creepy. (I can do creepy but it has to be with humor!) OK, see how I ramble--am so sure you're glad you asked! ;)
(and you ignore all those groans and enjoy yourself!) :D

I've mentioned (maybe not here-but somewhere) I'm an addict. I'm working to wane-but the regulars include "Grey's Anatomy" & "Law & Orders: SVU & Criminal Intent"
I was once a fan of "ER" but the direction the show has taken-turns me off. Beyond that it's Sports, like wordsrock says, it is October.

Anali,

Denny Crane! is all I have to say.

Janet (with a big J),

You know that I love British television... especially since their police shows are rarely about guns and rarely have cops that look like they came out of central casting. Just as an aside, the male lead in Murder City had a role in "Love, Actually" a few years ago.

Kelley,

I love King of The Hill! Hank Hill is one of the funniest characters on television.

Words,

I'm with you, baby... I just gotta get you hooked on some rugby. By the way, my wife said yes to the double-date thing.

Zanne,

Ramble away, I AM glad that I asked!

Deborah,

See my comments to Words about rugby! It is time for the autmn internationals!

Woo Hoo!

Not just Love Actually, but he is also in My Family on BBC America, and did an amazing dramatic turn in a recent version of Dr. Zhivago as Lara's husband turned revolutionary. I do try to follow his career, even if I can't remember his name.
