Gunfighter Dreams

I'm not posting about anything other than this today:

My blog is becoming unhealthy.

I didn't sleep well last night. I'm not sure if it was because I was concerned about today's (cancelled because of the weather) soccer game, or something else.

I tossed and turned and woke up nearly every hour... and I had weird dreams.

Weird dreams about blogging.

There is a Barnes and Noble bookstore in downtown Washington, DC at the corner of 12th and E street, that I go to sometimes... it has two floors, and at the top of the escalator is the information desk. Well, in my dream, the info desk was a coffee bar instead.

For some strange reason, I was talking about my blog with the two baristas, one, a young black man, the other, a young white woman. They asked questions about my blog while they got my coffee for me... and before I left, they asked me for my blog address. I tried to write it down, but I was having difficulty. I tried six or seven times, but couldn't do it. The guy thought it was funny, but the girl too the pen and said that I should repeat the address to her and she would write it down. I was relieved... but found I could no longer speak.

It was a weird dream.

I had another dream this morning.... maybe it was part of the same dream, but I can't remember much about that, other than there was a roller coaster involved.

Hmmm. Best not to dwell on this, perhaps.

I'm going to go make soccergirl's breakfast.

I hate those anxiety dreams! Hope your day gets better.

It's gorgeous by the way, why no soccer?

Painkiller side effects, perhaps? That's so weird. Maybe you need a card? ;)

Your blog is fine.

Now you on the otherhand....

I agree with ptlawmom (not that I'm an MD). I've heard painkillers can cause anxiety/strange dreams for a while.

PS - our soccer game was rained out too.

Now you can obsess even more about your blog - congrats on your Rising Blogger award! Well deserved.

Yeah, I figured it was the painkiller thing, too. Even if you're off of them, I believe they stay in the system for a couple of days... lingering.

Sweetie, after reading your last two posts I think you need to get off drugs and go back to work. :)

How's the knee?

When are you going back to work so we don't have to worry about all those bad guys anyway?

Thanks for the advice, all.

I will be returning to work monday... maybe that is just what I need.

Maybe I need something else... who knows?

As for my knee. I am doing rather well, Cori. Today, I spent most of our day out, without them. I'm felling pretty good, but, just don't ask me to run after anyone for a couple of weeks.

Thanks for noticing already, Songbird... apparently, you knew about this before I did.

I've had those dreams before, where I can't seem to perform the simplest of tasks. I hope it's just the medication and not really your blog that's making you feel anxious!

How's the recovery going?

The pen thing was a sign. Either about the fact that you need to start really WRITING more, or it had something to do with a penis.

I'll buy you a notebook.

Oh, I'm sorry. Are you taking vicodin?

cathouse teri said...

Sorry again. Yes, I just went back and read the past few posts. I know that vicodin specifically causes weird weird dreams. This is why I never have taken them when doctors prescribed.

If you ever again have to take pain killers, for any reason, try something like darvocet.

Vicodin is bad. May you recover from them soon. (I notice you say you are no longer taking them.)

Also, I have dreams like that every night.

And I am not taking any drugs.

God help me.

Also, regarding the Band of Gold ~ I have always thought (and still do) think that it's about a girl who got married far too young and rejected him on their wedding night.

Apparently, I am incapable of visiting any other blog here tonight. My browser must be stuck. What else could explain the overage of comments here?

Am I dreaming?

I get anxiety dreams from time to time and no pain killers are involved. Although after driving back from Maine with my kids today, I would love to have some painkillers. I hope your recovery is continuing to go well.

Those are some weird dreams. I still enjoy your blogging though. Keep up the good work.

Teri,

My penis is fine, thanks. As for Vicodin, they have given me an almighty prescription, but I'm not really one for pain meds, unless there is something REALLY wrong. We have pain for a reason... I'm ok for easing pain, but the removal of pain can be dangerous.

RLDQ,

Thanks! I won't let a few odd dreams keep me down... I have waaay to much to say, to stop.

I have dreams where I suddenly can't see and if I try to open my eyes in the dream, I open them in real life and wake up. It is very frustrating to never be able to see those things in the dream. Then again, I suffer from Sleep Terrors, Confusional Arousal and that entire family of sleep disorders, so I'm used to that stuff.
