Dear Senator Graig

Dear Senator Craig,

I am not a constituent of yours, but I am a patriotic American who cares deeply about our nation, it's institutions, and our form of government.

Let me get right to the core of the apple, Senator. I don't really care about your sexual orientation. Your homosexuality is wht it is, and that is completely your own
affair.

My problems, sir, stem from the fact that according to the police report, you attempted to engage in a lewd act in a public restroom, and that you attempted to use your position as a United States Senator to influence or interfere with a police investigation. I can tell you sir, that as a law enforcement officer, I am saddened, offended, and disgusted.

As a Senator who claims to care about Conservative values, and claims to care about supporting the law, your activities to the contrary are considerably demoralizing to me, and to many of my colleagues.

What is it with you people, anyway? Do you live in some sort of bizzaro world where it only counts if you get CAUGHT doing something wrong?

Gay or not, Senator, trying to score a piece of ass in an airport public restroom, is disgusting. What the fuck is wrong with you? How is anyone supposed to trust you now?

You are a criminal. A convicted criminal. Worse, you are a pervert. You are unfit to serve this country, and your state in the Senate.

Do the right thing, Senator Craig: Resign.

Resign. Save your dignity, repair whatever relationships that were damaged by this shabby and unsavory incident, and get on with your life. Leave your office to someone who can actually earn the respect of people of Idaho and the united States.

Resign, before your activities and subsequent lies cause further damage to the public trust.

Amen! Why do I keep hearing "Methinks he doth protest too much" in my head? No one who is knowingly under investigation, even by local media, would plead guilty to this charge just to make it "go away" quickly, even if it was to a lesser charge. Wouldn't you stand on the highest point, declaim your innocence and decry the depths to which the authorities sank in their attempt to entrap you? Great post, GF!

hear hear! I just don't get the mentality that it isn't wrong unless you get caught. Not only is this guy a criminal, but he's also a hypocrite and a self-hater (look at his record on gay rights.). Resign, man, resign.

WTG yet again GF. You're quickly turning into one of my favorite political bloggers.

I concur. It wouldn't be so damn bad if he didn't keep compounding things with his lying.

These neo-Cons keep acting like they have a TradeMark on Morality (R), these folks need to either get off their high horse or practice what they preach. Either way, he needs to go now!

The entire administration needs to resign.

I laughed so hard when I heard he showed his Senate ID - "What do you think about that?". I think you're in deep sh*t would have been the appropriate reply.

It amazes me how this administration has worked to take away gay rights and yet there are so many closet gays coming out of the woodwork in oh so scandalous ways.

All of the lying and hypocrisy just makes me sick.

True that.

Those conservatives are like a bunch of monkeys - see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.

And apparently they are so moral they do no evil.

Snort.

Hey hey hey, now.

They all do their fair share of schwitt. Liberals and conservatives.

What Senator Craig did was pretty pathetic, but it’s not like the FBI found $90,000 in small bills wrapped in aluminum foil in his freezer.

Leave it to you, Teri.

When the Jefferson investigation is over, the Justice Department will make a decision to wither charge Representative Jefferson or not. It is that simple.

Senator Craig has already pled guilty to his charges. His guilt sn't in question, it is an admitted, established fact.

Perhaps you ought to do a post about Representative Jefferson for the local wingnuts and purple kool-aid crowd.

Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brothers eye. (remember well the attack you launched against bill clinton),listen well to this: (Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. )Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
you have always hidden yr dark side,I ask you dear sir , where are the family values you have been preaching for, i wish you had never uttered a word of criticism against bill clinton, (" Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hyprocrites!
for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward,
but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men,
but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."

---Matthew 23:27, 28
at least the Clinton sinned with a woman , he was always classy,Chivalrous, Courteous, thoughtful and polite, he did not deny to a lady what she asked for.....listen carefully to this, i will say it only once ,even when he sinned with this exquisetly beautiful lady, he did it in a classy way, he gentelmanly responded to her request.............ON THE CONTRARY you attempted as per the police report to solicit sex in A PUBLIC TOILET, IN AN AIRPORT......how degrading....YOU COULDNT WAIT UNTIL YOU REACHED A PRIVATE PLACE TO TAKE CARE OF THE ITCHING ... ,...my suggestion to you IS TO GO IN PUBLIC, BE A MAN FOR A SECOND IN YOUR LIFE, APOLOGIZE TO ALL THOSE YOU HAVE HURT IN YOUR LIFE,APOLOGIZE TO THE NOBLE CLINTON, ask the Lord , THE ALIMIGHTY LOVING FATHER TO LEAD YOU AND ENLIGHTEN YOUR DARK PASSAGE,WAKE UP, STOP DENYING THE REALITY, THE TRUTH, THE MORE U DO IT THE MORE NEGATIVITY YOU ATTRACT . FINALLY I ASK GOD TO HELP YOU IN THIS DIFFICULT MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE.

The poor man is struggling with his homosexuality.

Face it, you're a homophobe.

You make noises about acceptance and sexual liberty, but that's it.

Pathetic.

Terri@SteelMagnolia said...

I'm glad the GOP is wanting/forcing
him to step down ... it's disgraceful what he did ... all while being married.

He should step down, it's the right thing to do.

I do feel sorry for his wife and kids ... this must be so shocking to them.

I have never heard of such a thing ... trying to get your groove on in the men's bathroom!!
I did hear that most of these men busted are married w/ children.

GF...

I thought he only plead guilty to disorderly conduct...
was there a different charge?

Gunfighter said...

Anonymous,

How do you figure me for a homophobe?

As I said in my post, I don't care who is or isn't gay. I love and fully stand by my sister, who is gay.

My beef with Senator Craig is that he is a criminal. Not because he is gay, but because he has pled guilty to committing at least one crime, THEN attempting to interfere in an investigation using his position as a Senator to get out of trouble.

I suspect you didn't fully read what I wrote.

Terri,

He did plead guilty to Disorderly
Conduct. Charges are often made on lesser crimes because some things are easier to prove in court. Additionally, I suspect that Craig got some legal advice and made a deal about pleading to the lesser charge of Disorderly Conduct, rather than have to go to trial.

Pleading to the lesser charge doesn't mean that you didn't do what you got nabbed for.
