Dream Bathroom

If I ever have the occasion to design a home for myself, I have several stipulations:

** All of the bathrooms must be constructed of stainless steel.

** The floors and shower stalls will all slope to drains that have garbage disposal type units.

** There will be spigots on the walls that I can attach hoses to.

** Said hoses will greatly aid in cleaning.

** The bathrooms will be large enough so that I don't have to contort all of my 285 pounds to clean the toilet or shower stall.

** There will be at least two of these large bathrooms, so that I don't have to share mine with 697 bottles of hair care products.

** The toilets will be made for people who aren't 4 feet tall.

Can you tell what kind of morning I had?

Mine would have to include a telephone on the wall ;-)

"Can you tell what kind of morning I had?" -- Sounds like a crappy one. But we all have one or more of those every now and then. But more importantly, 285 pounds sounds like a serious candidate for a diet if a long life is contemplated. Best to think about that. Be good.

The bathroom you describe is almost exactly like the one my mother dreams of for her house. She also wants a similar set up for the kitchen, which she says is the second nastiest room in the house, after the bathroom. Of course, if she really had her way, the bathroom and the kitchen would be completely separate from the house and connected by a breezeway, much like they had in the olden days.

Teri,

I draw the line at telephones.

Jim,

I get lots of exercise. I'm probably stronger than most people you know. 285 is only about 10 or 15 pounds heavier than I need to be, but I appreciate your concern. To tell you the truth, I am already 20 years older than I thought I would ever be.

Janet,

I love your mother's idea.

You had me laughing out loud! Sorry about the crappy start to your day, hope it gets better real soon!

Oh yes, talking rugby, the you-know-who guy I know on THAT team resigned this week. And you'll know why I say it's a very good thing!

Bathrooms built for the average person - the thorn in the side of everyone who is not "average."

My friend Tom is 6'4" tall - whenever I visit him, the shower head is so far over me, I wonder if the water will ever reach my 5'4" self.

Funny, but I "get it"

My ex-husband is 6'7" ... he designed and remodeled our master bath to fit his size. It was perfect for him, and I thought it was great too.

I'm pretty small, and even I feel as if I've broken my back after I clean the bathroom!

Hmm...I'd like the idea of hoses to spray down the bathroom, but my 697 bottles of hair care product would get wet. :(

Hmmm. Did you recently clean the bathrooms?
