The Return of Shoot 'Em Up Friday!

Your wait has ended!

Shoot 'Em Up Friday will return at the end of this week! I have received the third item, donated by readers to end it's days via a shotgun blast (or several) at the hands of yours truly.

This is going to be fun!

Bwahaha!

I feel so good knowing that at least ONE person out there in the blogosphere is looking forward to what I write!

I feel all warm and fuzzy now.

Do you only shoot literal, physical items or do you also blast away at virtual or metaphorical items? If that's the case, I have several I'd like to offer. They include the 50% BGE electricity rate increase, the new Cingular/AT&T merger, and my utter inability to give up smoking entirely. Actually I could send physical representations--a copy of the electric bill, a pack of cigarettes, and--well, I don't think it would be wise to disintegrate my cell phone, but you get the general idea. Or maybe I should take metaphorical potshots at these things myself. I've never handled a shotgun, but I've begun to develop some accuracy with a handgun, much to the amusement of my family. I'm afraid that if I actually showed up at the firing range with these items the fellow behind the counter would (a) refuse to sell me any ammunition; (b) back away slowly; and (c) hit some kind of secret button that summons the police. Probably not such a good idea.

Anne,

Send me the bill... with all of the personal stuff redacted, of course.... or a carton of smokes... that might be fun!

Yeah! Shoot 'em up Friday is comin' back! I can't wait!! Woo hoo!!!

And bless the person who donated that third item so my item can be shot up, because--as we all know--it's all about me. (Not.)

I'm going to collect this stuff, pack it up, and send it to you. When I was very small, my grandmother cracked a china teapot. It was still in one piece, just no longer useful. The GP's allowed me to take the teapot and hurl it against the garage, where it shattered very satisfactorily and made a dandy noise. This will be better.
